DEAN & DELUCA

The image is the lunch I had one day with my boyfriend at DEAN & DELUCA near home. A little bit expensive but they serve nice light-taste dishes, so we go there once in a while. What we've got on this day was: grilled vegetables salad, crab meat and asparagus sandwich, and jambalaya. Another day we had cabbage and shrimp panini, which was really simple and delicious. Their "Super Premium Ice Cream" is great, too! I will post about it when we get a chance to have it ;)

The weather today is super fine with the blue sky! I wish I could go out for dinner tonight, but my boyfriend said he is busy... will see...

Anyway, I have hula class tonight. I can't believe how fast the week is going! I braided my hair to create a wavy hair again!

Aloha ;D

Okinawan Cuisine @ Yura

It was still Tuesday, but I went out to eat Okinawan cuisine near home with my boyfriend last night. Last time we went there was May 2008! Time flies. I should have loved him more at that time because that thing happened in July... oh shit! It reminds me back again!!!

Anyway, we enjoyed the food there! Especially the gourd chanpuru (top left image) cooked with SPAM meat was interesting! It was juicy, spongy, and delicious! I had a glass of Awamori (Okinawan shochu) along with the dishes. It's alcohol content was 45%! Wow!!! Sorry for bad photo quality because I took them with my cell-phone...

When I got home, I was really tired and drowsy. I slept in the tub for a while... oops! And I am still drowsy now... need to have a cup of coffee. BTW, I've recently got acnes on my chin. I searched the net and found that they are from stress! Damn!!! Maybe because I worried too much last month... Mind and body is truly connected!

Let's smile and keep up :)

Jasmine Thai

Hi! The weather is nice outside again :D

Today I'm gonna go out to eat lunch at an authentic Thai restaurant called "Jasmine Thai" with my co-workers. I can't wait!!!

I brought my camera with me, so I will post what I had later ;)

I think jose and merce-san knows this vegetable. I had a stir-fried "空心菜" (water spinach)! It was simple but delicious with thai spices! Mmmmmmmmmm :D My co-workers had salmon cooked in coconut sauce and stir-fried minced chicken. I tried them all and were great!!!

What was your lunch today?!

Blue Garden

Last night, under the lovely weather, my boyfriend and I went to an Italian restaurant called Blue Garden where you can enjoy authentic Italian food.

We opened a bottle of wine :)

What a nice day with a nice breeze.
I still felt anxious about the girl but I made up with him right away!!!

I liked the name of seasonal mixed salad, "genki salad", which means energetic salad! It made us happy :) Their pizza was amazingly delicious. The cheese pizza called Italice is made with mozzarella, gorgonzola, taleggio, and parmigiano cheese. You pour honey over it. It was superb and went well with our wine.

By the way, I bought a new dress on this day before I see him because I was wearing sportswear. He asked me for a dinner at noon, so I canceled my plan to go to the gym. That's why.

Couples look happy, everything seems fine, but no one knows what's behind... Like merce-san says, "trust" and "forgiveness" might be the key. I don't want to argue with him anymore and I know he will never tell me the truth. Merce-san might be right. Thanks!

Keio Asahi Sky Beer Garden

Hi! This weekend was again really fast. How was yours?

On Saturday evening, my boyfriend and I went to the Keio Asahi Sky Beer Garden. The weather was perfect for outdoor drinking, so it was already crowded at around 6PM! The food was brought really fast to the table, which allowed us to relax! You know what I mean. Ha-ha ;)

The Hawaiian festival at the department store was great! Everything was expensive, but I found a nice plumeria hair accessory and a plumeria poepoe lei that goes perfect with my new Pa'u skirt! I bought the very left one with white flowers (plumeria)!

This weekend, I again argued with my bf about girl(s)... he was really mad at me because I didn't give up. But I just realized it's better knowing nothing than knowing only the negative things, because his attitude toward me never changed and he was and is always nice to me!

The weather has been lovely these days! Tonight he asked me to go out for a drink again. I hope we can make up.

LOVE and PEACE!

Cold Sesame-Flavored Kimchi Pasta

Last night, after the hula class, I again ate out with my bf.

We went to a casual pasta restaurant called Popolamama. The name "Popolamama" comes from the combination of "Popolare" which means in Italian "popular" and "mama" as a symbol of family. They use the core portion of qualified durum wheat with semolina mesh and provide more than 50 items including pizza, salad, antipasta and dessert. They have more than 100 restaurants in the Tokyo area, Hanshin area, South Hokkaido, Hokushin'etsu.

We once went there long ago and we didn't find it good, so we didn't go there since then. But recently I saw on TV that they changed the way they serve the pasta. To serve before it gets soft, the cook will bring the dish directly to your table when it's done. After knowing that they are particular about their pasta, I really wanted to try it out, so we went there yesterday.

I ordered "Cold Sesame-Flavored Kimchi Pasta" (upper image). My boyfriend ordered "Greedy Genovese" (lower image) which comes with a lot of ingredients. The pasta was really smooth and refreshing. Also, their seasoning was good, too! I think I'm gonna go there again.

Tonight we will eat at home because it is too tired to eat out everyday, you know!

Anyway, I bought another pa'u skirt since the shipping fee was free for 3 days! What do you think of these four? Which do you think I purchased?! (The one I bought was sold out this afternoon! Whew!!!) Don't laugh at these pics. I just wanted to make sure which looks nice on me. Ha-ha ;)

Tomorrow I'm gonna visit the Hawaiian festival at a department store. I hope I find something I like!

Have a good weekend :)

Colorful Tomato Soba @ Aji no Mingei

Aji no Mingei is well known as a handmade udon restaurant. My boyfriend and I go there once in a while because all their menus are big, cheap, and delicious!

Yesterday, I didn't feel like cooking, so we went there for a dinner!

I really wanted to eat a refreshing soba dish, so I ordered "Colorful Tomato Soba" (upper image). It's a cold soba with daikon radish strips and tomato slices. There are some fried dried shrimps sprinkled on top which makes the dish really tasty! Also, spicy wasabi accent was really refreshing and went great with dashi broth! Mmm :D

My boyfriend ordered "Hot and Sour Black Vinegar Soup Udon". It's the most popular dish at the restaurant. He had it with a small tendon. He has a good appetite! Ha-ha!!!

This week the train is not crowded because of the Bon holiday. Obon or just Bon is a Japanese Buddhist custom to honor the departed spirits of one's ancestors. It takes place every year from August 13th to 16th. Many people take summer vacation during this period and go back to their hometowns. Unfortunately, I took my summer vacation already in the end of June (to NY), so I have to go to work. But the work is slow, so it's okay.

Hula class tonight ;) Have a good day!

6th Anniversary @ ALTOMOND BEKKAN

8/11 was 6th anniversary since my boyfriend and I started dating, so my boyfriend booked a nice restaurant called ALTOMOND BEKKAN.

The restaurant was broadcast on "Gurunai Gochini Narimasu" on 7/2. It's a program that TV personalities guess the prices of dishes they ordered at a selected high-class restaurant without looking at the price list. We had a course menu which consists of dishes that TV personalities actually ordered. Until I go there, I didn't know anything about the restaurant, so I was really excited when I heard it from my boyfriend :D

All the dishes were fabulicious! Grilled Japanese Beef and Foie-Gras "ROSSINI" was like a bouquet with pretty edible flower salad on top! Also their desserets were fancy. Tiramisu was served in a modern style. You pour espresso over Mascarpone ice cream on top of nuts and crunchy chocolate studded on a dish and eat. I loved their presentation! Upper 4 dishes are my boyfriend's choice and the lower 4 is mine. Of course we shared them all ;)

We had a wonderful time :D

Surprisingly, the restaurant was located right next to the Aoyama Unimat Museum where we went last year! My boyfriend didn't know that because he found it on the Net! Cool we came back ;)

Raspberry and Acai Berry Granita

Have you ever tried acai berry?

This is a seasonal acai drink I sometimes order at UCC coffee shop.
It's a refreshing granita that uses acai and raspberry.
I try acai berry drink whenever I find it because acai has good nutrition!

Acai contains 18 times more polyphenol than blueberry and said to help increase beauty! Also, it is rich in iron, fiber, and calcium.

Do you know that acai is a palm tree?! I just knew it!!!

Anyway, we experienced earthquakes (magnitude of 4) in Tokyo almost daily. This morning, it happened at 5AM. One before happened at 8PM on Sunday. The earthquake's epicenter (magnitude of 6) was Shizuoka, not that far from Tokyo. I hope great one won't happen X(

Besides this, typhoon No.9 supposed to pass this noon... but it hasn't arrived yet. I hope it moves away quickly before our anniversary dinner.

Fingers crossed!

My Recent Favorite Drink

On Friday night, I ate out with my co-workers of the same age. We've been to an Italian restaurant called CHIANTI. Recommended original dressing was rich and great! But overall, they use too much garlic. Anyway, what I loved the most was their cocktail. I forgot the name, but it was a fresh lemon cocktail using Mediterranean lemon. It wasn't sweet and really refreshing!!! Also it contains mineral, which was eye-catching! Actually, we had a good time but one guy started to doze off, so we called it a night...

On Saturday night, my boyfriend and I went to a dynamic kitchen & BAR restaurant called Hibiki. We had a 3,000yen ($30) coupon, so we went there ;D My boyfriend took my picture with his iPhone but it came out too white X( Anyway, what I like about this restaurant is that we can view chefs cooking foods from the bar counter. Here again, I found a fresh lemon chu-hai (shochu cocktail) on a limited-time menu. It was not sweet (no sugar added) and really refreshing, too!

Mostly, I get a Japanese tea chu-hai when I dine out, but I think I'm gonna go for the lemon cocktails for a while ;D

It is raining really hard since yesterday afternoon. I hope it stops by tomorrow since we have another anniversary tomorrow. My boyfriend booked a restaurant :D To tell the truth, this is without much surprise, he should! Yesterday, I found purikura which he took last year on 7/20 with a girl who I don't know. Fuckin' girl!!! I'm glad she was ugly. I scratched her face and shredded. He-he-he >:D At least my boyfriend is nice to me, I can forgive him but not her! You know what I mean!!!

Sorry, my post is gloomy like a weather here today... Just laugh! I'm fine. Depending on my mood, though. Ha-ha!

See you again ;)

Beer Garden

Wow! It was a great night for a beer garden! We enjoyed drinking out ;) Luckily there was no rain and the weather was super calm. The temp was low with no wind and comfortable, too!

We've been to Mexican beer garden. The food there was so so, to tell the truth because it was all-you-can-eat-and-drink buffet style. I made a crazy salad! A salad topped with guacamole, salsa, and chili beans. He-he-he!

You know what!? We finally opened the wine made by Junko Arai! It was amazingly delicious since I knew her effort!

It is sometimes nice to hang out with my co-workers after work. I cheered myself up ;)

Tomorrow, I'm going to a summer festival with my bf after my weekend recipe stuff! Hope it won't rain.

Talk to you later!!!
