Yakiniku @ Gyu-Kaku

Do you know Yakiniku?
It means "grilled meat" and it commonly refers to a Japanese style of cooking bite-sized meat (usually beef and offal) and vegetables on gridirons or griddles over flame of wood charcoals carbonized by dry distillation (sumibi, 炭火) or gas/electric grill.

On Saturday, my boyfriend and I've been to Gyu-Kaku, where offers cheap and tasty beef! It has been more than 3 years since we last went there! Actually, I don't eat offal, so I had beef galbi and beef skirt. Wrapping it with Sanchu leaf, rice, miso, and mayonnaise was really delicious! It's their original way of eating yakiniku :)

We dine out twice a week, which might be too much, but there are many restaurants we want to go! I think jose understands me. He-he!

Nice weather outside! I haven't been to the GYM for 4 straight days, so I should go tonight! See you again :)

Hawaiian Restaurant: Tsunami

On Friday, my boyfriend and I finally went to the Hawaiian restaurant called Tsunami. What was amazing was their menu! They have so many wonderful dishes! We had natto salad, chili meat tacos, hot chicken satay, grilled chicken, and omelette curry. Their Hawaiian drinks were fabulicious! I loved Aloha-hai, which is Hawaiian tea with shochu.

The weather on this day was nice and warm, so we enjoyed our dinner outside. Their Hawaiian goods and music were really healing. My heart was filled with happiness :) I wish I could feel like this all the time. I hate ups and downs.

Peace!

Roppongi Hills: Full-HD 3D and Rokuzo

On Saturday, my boyfriend and I went to Roppongi Hills. There was an interesting event where you can experience Panasonic's "Full-HD 3D"! We saw demo videos of Olympic games and movies. They were amazingly beautiful. I hope we can enjoy high-quality 3D images in our home soon!!! After watching them, we've got free samples of new Häagen-Dazs ice creams: Sweet Potato Pie and Truffe Chocolat. Yummy!!!

For dinner, we went to an Izakaya called "Rokuzo". They serve farm-fresh fish food! We enjoyed Fish Salad, Tuna and Scallion Kabobs, Mackerel Sushi, Salt Grilled Small Sea Bream and Hakata-Style Stone-Bowl Rice. They were all healthy and delicious. I'm glad to be born in Japan ;D

Okay, I will move on to the next post!

Oriental Dining LOHB

Hi there! I had so much fun this weekend! I hope I can post them all today!!!

On Friday night, my boyfriend took me to a nice oriental food restaurant called LOHB in Shibuya. Their concepts are Natural & Healthy & Beauty. They use fresh and organic ingredients and serves mixed tastes of French, Italian and Asian dishes. Their "Mont-Blanc-Style Potato with Roasted Beef" was interesting. Slices of roasted beef were cooked with mushrooms and sweet chestnuts, and covered with mushed potato. All dishes were fun and delicious! Also, you can enjoy night view of Shibuya diagonal crosswalk, which is cool!

Okay, I will move on to the next post ;)

Kushikatsu Dengana

Do you know "kushikatsu"?
It's a Japanese-style deep-fried kabob. "Kushi" means a skewer and "katsu" means a deep-fried cutlet of meat. We fry fish and vegetables as well.

Almost two weeks ago, my boyfriend and I went to a newly opened kushikatsu restaurant called "Kushikatsu Dengana" located in a shopping district near home.

They care about their batter, frying oil, and sauce.
- They blend yam in the batter and use special panko (bread crumbs) that don't absorb too much oil, so their kushikatsu is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside!
- They use light and healthy Dutch frying oil.
- Their home-made sauce is light and delicious.

They are very particular about the way they cook, so each kushikatus was simple but delicious! I loved onions ;)

Oh no. Typhoon #18 is going to hit Tokyo this afternoon... My boyfriend and I were going to visit my parents. We'd better change our plan.

Sorry that I'm way behind on replies again... I will catch up soon!

Take care!!!

Dogs OK! Yoga Club

On Sunday, my boyfriend and I had a dinner with my family at a restaurant called Yoga Club since my dad temporarily came back from China (he works away from home). The restaurant is well known for its wild yeast bread. We ordered many different kinds of dishes and shared ;)

It was for the first time that our dog "Milk" joined us. He is a miniature poodle. Which pics do you think is cute? My sis says my shots are not cute... Two of them are taken by my sis. What do you think?!

Now typhoon #18 is approaching eastern Japan. According to the agency, it will make a landfall on the 8th. I hope not because I have a hula class at night!!!

Let's take care!

Lunch @ Ohachi

This is something about yesterday.

I was off from work, so I saw my boyfriend in Shibuya after the hula class to have lunch together. He had an idea to take me to a restaurant, but he forgot where it was, so we just happened to enter the restaurant called "Ohachi".

They serve healthy homestyle dishes. What I had was white fish fries and vegetables simmered in thick dashi broth. It comes with white rice, but you can change it to 16 cereal rice, which is cool! You know I love healthy food :)

Okay, I need to make another post for today, which is a big culinary news!!!

AIR BLAN SERVICE

On Saturday night, after the holiday work, my boyfriend reserved a nice restaurant called "AIR BLAN SERVICE" for dinner. Their entrance was cool like a boarding gate! Food they serve was creative and delicious. The seasonal fish menu "herb-flavored grilled saury" was fabulous! Our seat was by the window, so we enjoyed the night view of Shinjuku and had a really romantic time :)

Tomorrow, I'm gonna get iPhone! My boyfriend said he will buy me one!!! He's so cool ;)

I just finished writing up my recipes I had to submit by tomorrow. Whew... It's already 2am.

Have a good night!

KONA 57 CURRY

Whew... I'm almost done for today!!!

Today my boyfriend came to see me at lunch time, so we went to KONA 57 CURRY close to my workplace. They serve the curry which was originally made at the restaurant called Kappa Due Chi (now cafe58) in Daikanyama in 1994. They serve the curry with brown rice, which has a higher nutritional value than white rice! Mine (in the front) is curry with chopped tomatoes, edamame and mashed potato. My boyfriend's (at the back) is ground meat and cheese. Mmm! both were delicious :D

Their Hawaiian BGM healed me a lot!

Okay, I gotta go now. See you again :)

Another Drink!

Last night, he had dinner with his co-worker but it seems like he didn't enjoy that much, so I went to have a glass of wine with him at Izakaya (Japanese style pub) to refresh! It was after 0am, so we couldn't stay long but the Izakaya was cool!!! A small glass of wine and beer is 100yen ($1) on Thursdays! Actually, we wanted to go there for a long time. I forgot the name of the Izakaya, so I will report about it again when we could take time to go there. The weather was nice at night, so we enjoyed walking back home :)

It has been a week, so I can't wait to eat out with my boyfriend tonight!

Have a good day and good silver week ;)

Today's Lunch: Soba @ Ryoka

My boyfriend just called me to go out for lunch since he came close to my workplace while making the rounds ;)

I am thinking of having soba for lunch.

Will see...

Yes! We had soba for lunch!
We've been to my favorite soba restaurant called Ryoka.
Mine is Tororo Seiro Soba, which you dip the soba in cold dashi with grated yam (Image above). My boyfriend had Kamo Seiro Soba, which you dip the soba in hot duck broth (Image below).
I love the way they cut soba. It is thin and flat. Cooked al dente! Mmm... I had a good time!

What did you have for lunch?!

Monsoon Cafe in Jiyugaoka

On Saturday, my boyfriend and I've been to Jiyugaoka, maybe for the first time in three years. Jiyugaoka is the top-ranked residential area in Japan. There are many general stores and apparel stores around there. The newly opened apparel store called FREE'S MART was cool. It's a multi-brand store from L.A.! They have cute and cool clothes at reasonable prices. I didn't get anything on this day, but I'm sure I want to go back and get something one day!

We explored the town and had a dinner at Monsoon Cafe where you can enjoy food from Asian countries (Thai, Vietnam, China, Indonesia, etc...). It was a fashionable restaurant with an exotic atmosphere. I took a pic at the entrance. Their menu is reasonably priced and delicious, which was great! My boyfriend loved their green curry. It was raining hard at night but we were in a good mood, so we had a good time. Simple! He-he-he :D

We found an interesting restaurant dedicated to tomatoes: Celeb de Tomato. Tomatoes are a good source of vitamin C, jose! I wish we could go there the next time!

Today, the weather is super fine again! I think the beginning of fall is the best weather of the whole year ;)

Enjoy your day!
