Pullman Bakery

Pullman Bakery is a bakery in Hokkaido, Sapporo city. They use only natural and fine quality ingredients without artificial additives and are particular about making healthy home-made breads. The bakery has won twice at TV CHAMPION (popular variety show that hosts contests in different genres).

Last week, my mom went to the Hokkaido food exhibition organized in a department store (Isetan) and bought us Pullman Bakery's curry bun and chikuwa (fish sausage) bun.

Curry bun (in front) is crispy outside and has a sweet and spicy curry with potato chunks in it. Chikuwa bun (at the back) is a danish bread. Tuna paste was in Chikuwa, which makes it tasty and easy to eat.

My boyfriend liked the curry bun. He said curry itself is delicious, so that's why the bun is good! That's true ;)

Do you eat bun? What kind do you like?

Anyway, last night, I again ate out with my boyfriend... We had a healthy meal, but I should cook at home today for sure!

Let's eat home :D

Kobe Pudding Smoothie

I'm making smoothie every morning lately because I have many frozen bananas in my freezer.

This morning, I mixed Kobe pudding with banana and milk because it was pretty sweet for me to eat as-is. I made a swirl with caramel sauce. It was delicious!!!

I've just been to the post office and found that the weather was super fine with a nice breeze. It should be a great day to eat outside! Unfortunately I don't have a plan to go out, though... I bought Hello Kitty stamps since I was in a good mood :)

Like merce-san says, the second round love is sweeter than ever!!! Am I a simple girl?! Just by changing my perspective, I really want to tell him that I love him (from my heart) every day and spend the most time with him. He was really surprised with this change and asked me how long I can last. I think I can last this forever because I learned it from my mistake ;)

Oh, unfortunate thing here... I was asked for a TV interview recently, but I needed to decline it because our home is small and untidy like a studio... What a shame!!! Maybe we can look for a new house someday soon ;)

Kobe Pudding

My bf bought Kobe pudding for me as a souvenir some time ago when he came back from his family home. Since the expiration date wasn't that close, I kept in the fridge for a while.

Sweet stuff makes me happy :D

It was pretty sweet, though!

Have a good weekend!!!

Avocado

Do you like avocado? I love it! But it is not easy to guess a green and creamy one at stores. However, the supermarket called "Seijo Ishii" has a special avocado that you never pick the bad one! It costs 2 bucks per avocado (twice as much as the one sold at regular supermarkets), but worth to pay for it! I mean, better than getting the bad one once in a while!

We are blessed with fine weather almost daily. I want to have a patio dining someday soon before the summer ends!

Tonight is the hula class! I brought my new pa'u skirt today!!!

Aloha :)

Black Bean Cocoa Soymilk Banana Smoothie

This morning, I was really exhausted and didn't feel like eating at all and had stomach pains, so I made a soymilk banana smoothie with a black bean cocoa pudding.
It was so healthy and delicious that my pain went away ;)

Why I had the pain is because I was still anxious and argued about the issue again with him last night. Damn!!! I think we've been kept on doing this for about 4 months. He didn't like it, of course, so we had a big fight again. He said he really wants to be with me but he can't if I'm always like this.

Then I finally realized one big thing when he told me he wants to move forward. In addition to "trust" and "forgiveness", I should "NEVER LOOK BACK"!!! Knowing the past will never help improve anything because you can't change the past. You just get nervous and nag your loved one. I know some poeple (like me) want to make things clear before you move on to the next step, but it's just a waste of time. I am sorry to all people who become victim to our stuff...

I will never look his cell or make a search for his secret from today. I will always trust his words. I believe this is the true "trust" because my mistrust was an axe.

It is easy to understand this in your mind but not from the bottom of your heart until you experience it, so it took me a long time to get these ideas.

This is my last post about this. I will never look back. I know we can be super happy then ;)

High-Fiber Low-Calorie Bacon Egg Bread

Do you remember high-fiber low-calorie bread that I wrote before?!

Believe it or not, it has been already more than a year since I made that post. Time flies!!! Anyway, I bought it again last week! This time "bacon egg". The bread contains only 167kcal and has 3.6g of fiber! It is almost half the calories as compared to the regular bacon egg bread! Amazingly healthy and delicious ;)

Their lineup should have changed or increased but they are always running out quickly X( Are they in high demand?! I don't hear any news about their next health project since then, but I'm looking forward to it! I'm a health freak, you know!

Okay, I will post my accomplishments tomorrow!!!

See you again ;)

Contrex

Which do you like?
Hard water or soft water?

Yesterday I found Contrex was sold with a scrunchy (a free gift) of PJ(PEACH JOHN: Japanese lingerie shop like Victoria's Secret in the US)! I was at the store thinking of getting a bottle, but after minutes of consideration, I ended up not getting it because I don't prefer the taste of hard water.

Hard water is said to have a high mineral content, mainly calcium and magnesium. I always drink soft water which is low in mineral content, so Contrex is pretty heavy for me. evian is okay I think. By the way, Contrex costs about 2 bucks in Japan. Pretty expensive for water, right?!

Anyway, I just talked with my co-worker (a guy) and he said he loves to drink hard water and he bought dozens of Contrex recently! Just in case, I asked him about this free scrunchy and he said he bought a few of them with it!!! There are 6 different kinds, so I hope he've got each of them! I asked him to bring them all tomorrow ;) Sometimes good thing happens!

Yesterday, I was so tired that I didn't go to the GYM. Instead, I used Aesop's Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Serum, which I bought in NY, after a long bath. I think anti-oxidant ingredients worked on me! My dull skin brightened a little bit ;) Oops... I was going to open it after I finished my L'OCCITANE's Very Precious Regenerating Concentrate, but I couldn't wait!!! In addition, I have unopened Very Precious Brightening Concentrate. How greedy! How many faces do I have! He-he-he!!!

Let's try to remain young ;)

Yogurt Parfait

Yogurt with granola is something I really love!
Why we don't have it in Japan?!
I found it everywhere in NYC, even at Starbucks (they also had nice and healthy meal packs which I never saw before. I'm gonna try those next year if they are still available)!!!

The image is at dishes (Juice/Smoothie bar) at Grand Central. I just took pic of yogurt parfaits. We had yogurt shake there.

I had one small (9 oz.) yogurt parfait at Europa Cafe (during the trip to NY). I can eat larger size (16 oz.) by myself if I don't have to save calories! Yummy!!!

The rainy season has ended in Tokyo! Yay!!! But too bad I didn't have that many chances to wear my rain boots... I bought another pair in NYC at COACH. Maybe next year...

Pepsi Shiso

Hi! Today, I tried "Pepsi Shiso" which just went on sale!!! Shiso is Japanese basil. This Pepsi comes in lime green soda, conveying a feeling of coolness!

Well... I think it tastes green, too much like shiso! Ha-ha!!!

It's a yearly staple that Suntory (Pepsi's distributor in Japan) releases such a funny Pepsi drink! In 2008, they sold "Pepsi Blue Hawaii". That was interesting, too!

Changing my story, my boyfriend came home so late (at 4am) last night, that I got little nervous and couldn't go to bed... I just slept for an hour!!! Now I am really sleepy. Coffee doesn't help me wake up X(

Anyway, I added a link on the left sidebar, under ABOUT THIS BLOG, to view "Food and Drink Products". Hope you find it interesting ;)

Fat Burning Coke?!

My co-worker likes new junk stuff!
On 6/8, he bought us newly-released green tea-flavoured Coca-Cola, which is coke with catechin. We sampled it together :)

As you may know, catechin is a special component of tea leaf that have been shown to stimulate fat metabolism and help the body burn fat more efficiently!

Coca Cola (Japan) Co. spokesman Katsuya Sato said "This coke leaves a slight green tea aftertaste and is mainly targeted at health-conscious women in their 20s and 30s. We wanted to cater to people who are looking for something that tastes good but is also good for health and beauty." [The Canadian Press]

Of course, it's calorie-free!
I liked the idea, but it didn't taste like green tea at all... If I love coke, I might get it again, but I'm not a coke addict, so this might be the first time and the last time...

In late June, shiso(Japanese basil)-flavoured Pepsi will be sold against it! Yes. I will try it out, if my co-worker gets it for us! I know he will definitely! Ha-ha ;)

Eat healthy!!!

Daikon

Today, I received a happy comment that my blog visitor has tried my Buri Daikon (Japanese amberjack or yellowtail simmered with daikon) and it came out pretty tasty :)

I am glad to know that my translation wasn't bad. Plus, I am happy to know my recipes are of help!!!

Speaking of daikon, I never knew it tastes bitter even if you par boil it with kome no togijiru (a cloudy rice water that you get when you wash rice). I searched online about it and found that the sharp taste of daikon (when raw) brings out the bitter taste when you boil. How interesting! So if you get wholly sharp daikon, it comes out very bitter X( Maybe I was just lucky that I haven't bought the sharp ones! Choose heavy daikon, which means juicy and sweet!

By the way, daikon is in season from autumn to winter, so there is less chance to get very sharp ones at that time ;) As you may know, the middle part of daikon root is soft and sweet, so it is well-suited to simmer, like Buri Daikon. The top part is much sweeter, so it is good for salad! The very bottom is sharp, so you might want to use for grated radish.

That's all for today.

It is brilliantly sunny outside! How nice!!!
I don't have a plan to go out, though...

See ya ;)

Nikuman

Have you ever tried nikuman?
I believe jose and anGeLine know this well!

Nikuman is a steamed bun made from flour dough, usually filled with cooked ground pork. In winter in Japan, you can find nikuman at convenience stores. They are steamed at stores near the cash register. There are many different fillings: pizza, curry, gyoza, seafood, char siu (Chinese-style barbecued pork), yakisoba, kimchi (Korean pickle), etc... Sometimes you can find strange ones like chocolate or pudding! I have never tried them, though...

The image above is packed nikuman (pork and seafood) which my mom bought me as souvenirs when she went to Chinatown in Yokohama. You can microwave it as-is (packaged)! How convenient!!! Both pork and seafood were juicy and delicious ;)

As predicted, it started to rain from today...
Hope it stops by the weekend...

Yay! I have hula class tonight!

Take care!!!
