Valentine World 2012: Japanese Chocolate Gift Ideas

Today my darling and I went to shop HDD in Shinjuku and found there was an event called "Valentine World" at Odakyu department store. Every year, they hold an event for Valentine's day selling collections of amazing chocolates with free tastings :D No wonder we stopped by there!

I tasted most of them! They were all amazingly delicious!!!

I bought a box of chocolate for my dad. And then when I realized, my darling was standing with a box of chocolate and gave it to me. How sweeeeeeeeeeeeet :D hehe

Market O Real Brownie

My darling brought me back this Market O Real Brownie from his work.



It's a pretty popular Korean brownie in Japan and I see it out at many stores these days (like K-Pop stuff. LoL).

I thought the packages are all the same but they weren't! The pink one is definitely mine! haha

Calorie Control Ice Cream

I finally tried out the Calorie Control Ice Cream. It's low-calorie ice cream for health-conscious customers by Glico!

This product line uses maltitol and sucralose, sweetening agents with fewer calories, instead of the sugar and starch syrup most often used in ice cream. To achieve lower calories and smoother texture, tofu is used while reducing the amount of dairy ingredients, with 5.0 g of dietary fiber per cup also added.

They are only 80 kcal each!!!





Unexpectedly, they were amazingly tasty and delicious :D

I tried all (every other day) and my best is their Vanilla ice cream! It is pretty addictive!!!



But... I think I cannot eat the cream-kind. My acne already popped out X( Damn... But I think these are pretty good as they are talked-about!!!

How adorable!!!



I just found that this cute slime nikuman (Japanese steamed pork bun) is sold in a limited quantity at FamilyMart (convenience store), so I ran to get one! hehe

Dragon Fruit

OMG! My dragon fruit was FUCHSIA PINK!!!



I never saw or ate such a pink food!!! I kind of not feeling any nutritional benefit from this color, but sure it contains lots of vitamins!!!

I thought it would be cool if I make a smoothie with this. LoL

Anyway, do you think the other one in the box is white?! It is hard to tell which one is which from the skin. haha (oops. it has a sticker showing it's white. LoL)

My tongue and fingers are really pink now!!!

Seoul Makgeolli (막걸리) Event by Suntory

There was a 3-day Seoul Makgeolli (ソウルマッコリ) event in Roppongi on the weeked!





The event was held by Suntory (Japanese brewing company) and it was pretty cool that you pay only 3 bucks to get a free food plate, 3 drinks, and 2 cans of Seoul Makgeolli :D







Jang Geun-suk (장근석) promotes the Seoul Makgeolli!

Zoku Quick Pop Maker

I know it is now September but one thing I found popular this summer was "Zoku Quick Pop Maker"! I saw it in NY and on TV here in Japan. Did you get it?!



I'm not a person who buys a new stuff in a second, so I didn't get it. hehe

Anyways our weather here in Tokyo is still hot like summer at 30C (86F) but yesterday was a day for "otsukimi" (お月見) - we call the day "chushu no meigetsu" (中秋の名月) - the day we enjoy viewing the full moon (harvest moon).

It's autumn already!

I gotta think a video tutorial for Halloween ;D

Umi Budo

Do you know Umi Budo?

It's a type of seaweed from Okinawa also known as sea-grapes or green caviar.



It was very interesting to know that you can't keep this in the fridge but at the room tempreture. Also, you can't marinate it but dip in the sauce to eat.



My sister said she likes to eat it with soy sauce but I think it was salty enough to eat as is.

You can find nicer pics on the Net since I received this near the expiration date... LoL

Tansan Senbei

My parents, younger sis and grandma have been to Arima onsen (hot spring in Arima) last week and got me some souvenirs :D

Tansan Senbei (thin sweet cookie-kind) is very famous there. I knew gaufres cookies (with cream) but not this one. But my darling knew it and I heard it is very well known to Kansai-jin (Kansai people). Really?!



Also my mom bought me some beauty products.



Anyways, today is 8th anniversary since I dated with my darling ;) He remembered it this morning! hehe I think we gonna celebrate (nothing special, though) it on Saturday!

It's high 35C (95F) in Tokyo!

I simply liked the idea Crumpled. I got it at MOMA store. (I love to shop there.) It was 3 for $36... pretty pricey X(


Say Hello Palette - Memoirs Of A Kitty
Very useful colors! I got it without question! The product is made in Canada! I found the Metal Hello Kitty brush set at the store which suki has, too :D


Just Bunches
I love crunchy bunches in the cereal and what an idea they took out the flakes :D I think the product is too heavy so that's why it is not available in Japan.


Frosted Shredded Bite Size Wheats
I love wheats, too! But also, it is not available in Japan because of it's weight, I guess...


Softsoap and Palmolive
Speaking of the weight, I bought many dish soap and hand soap products because they were way cheaper than in Japan. I got them all at less than $1. Amazing!!! SpongeBob was cute :D


Daisy Shaped Egg Fry Ring
I got them at Williams-Sonoma because they were 50% off. Their products are pricey but I love to window shop there. Lucky me I found them :D
