Oriental Dining LOHB

Hi there! I had so much fun this weekend! I hope I can post them all today!!!

On Friday night, my boyfriend took me to a nice oriental food restaurant called LOHB in Shibuya. Their concepts are Natural & Healthy & Beauty. They use fresh and organic ingredients and serves mixed tastes of French, Italian and Asian dishes. Their "Mont-Blanc-Style Potato with Roasted Beef" was interesting. Slices of roasted beef were cooked with mushrooms and sweet chestnuts, and covered with mushed potato. All dishes were fun and delicious! Also, you can enjoy night view of Shibuya diagonal crosswalk, which is cool!

Mooncake (月餅)

It was full moon last Saturday.

My dad came back from China during the Mid-Autumn Festival (Zhongqiu Festival) there. For our souvenirs, he bought many mooncakes. I've got the small ones but big ones were 10 cm (4 inches) in diameter! Wow!!! I don't think I can eat huge ones since mooncakes are rich and heavy like shortbread: a thick filling usually made from lotus seed paste is surrounded by a relatively thin (2-3 mm) crust and may contain yolks from salted duck eggs. Inside the cake were nuts and dried fruit!

Today, the weather is super fine after the typhoon! My boyfriend said he's gonna take me to a nice restaurant tonight. He-he!

Also, this coming holiday, we are going to go to a hot spring. Yay!

Change

The typhoon #18 has passed this morning, so I was late for work. Now the sky is clear!

Anyway, last night, my boyfriend and I went to see my parents. I will let you know later what we have talked, but you know what it means. To tell the truth, I am overanxious about things in the future. I hope I can get through diverse difficulties without any fight.

Kushikatsu Dengana

Do you know "kushikatsu"?
It's a Japanese-style deep-fried kabob. "Kushi" means a skewer and "katsu" means a deep-fried cutlet of meat. We fry fish and vegetables as well.

Almost two weeks ago, my boyfriend and I went to a newly opened kushikatsu restaurant called "Kushikatsu Dengana" located in a shopping district near home.

They care about their batter, frying oil, and sauce.
- They blend yam in the batter and use special panko (bread crumbs) that don't absorb too much oil, so their kushikatsu is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside!
- They use light and healthy Dutch frying oil.
- Their home-made sauce is light and delicious.

They are very particular about the way they cook, so each kushikatus was simple but delicious! I loved onions ;)

Oh no. Typhoon #18 is going to hit Tokyo this afternoon... My boyfriend and I were going to visit my parents. We'd better change our plan.

Dogs OK! Yoga Club

On Sunday, my boyfriend and I had a dinner with my family at a restaurant called Yoga Club since my dad temporarily came back from China (he works away from home). The restaurant is well known for its wild yeast bread. We ordered many different kinds of dishes and shared ;)



It was for the first time that our dog "Milk" joined us. He is a miniature poodle. Which pics do you think is cute? My sis says my shots are not cute... Two of them are taken by my sis. What do you think?!

Now typhoon #18 is approaching eastern Japan. According to the agency, it will make a landfall on the 8th. I hope not because I have a hula class at night!!!

The new term has started from this month! I hope I can post a video again after 3 months when I completed the term ;)

After dancing hula, I took his pic because he was cool sitting on a bench! I love this shot. He-he ;) Then we had a dinner at Midori-zushi. Sake we had called "人気一（Ninki-Ichi）" was light and delicious! I drank too much. It was a night with a full moon. We saw a round full moon on the way back to home.

My Accomplishments

Time flies again. It is already October. Not that many but I will list my accomplishments last month.

On 9/4, my "Cold Egg Soup Rice With Okura and Nameko" won a prize at the Yodoran (iodine-enriched egg) recipe competition by Nosan Corporation. They asked for cold recipes using their egg.






On 9/7, my "Chinese Style Pork And Shimeji Steamed Rice" was introduced as a sample recipe using Lee Kum Kee's oyster sauce at the recipe contest held by Cookpad.







On 9/10, my "Pork and Eggplant Bowl" ranked in the 5th place at Lettuceclub recipe site.







On 9/15, my "Pineapple and Shrimp Cocktail Rolls" won the outstanding performance award at the pineapple recipe contest. The contest is held every summer. I wish I could win the highest award which prize is a trip to Okinawa!





On 9/25, my "Blended Herb Sour Tomatoes" won the special prize at the herb salt contest.








I don't know which of my recipes won the prize but I received the fighting-spirit award at sweets recipe contest and received the double chance award at soy beans contest.

Then last but not least, I won some sample products as usual: 2 bottles of Blendy coffee, makeup essence base, and Reed's parchment paper.

This morning, my boyfriend game me Ichiro T-Shirt! Cool! The letters are glittering!!! I will wear it at GYM. He-he ;)

We expect rain this week. Too bad... I hope I can take a video of my hula this weekend. Yesterday new hula term has started. This time Christmas version: "Melehula Kalikimaka"! I can't wait to complete it ;)

iPhone 3GS

This is something about last week. My boyfriend bought me iPhone! Yay!!! He bought one few months ago and he said it's really cool, so I asked him to get one. Also my iPod broke at just the right time. I don't know why he bought me and so does he, but I guess he was in a good mood. He-he :)

Of course I bought Swarovski and covered it bling-bling. It cost about 16,000yen ($160). Wow!!! But I love it ;D I need to master how to use it sometime soon.

My Rice Ball at am/pm! (私のおにぎりがam/pmで本日発売されました♪)

My "Black Gomoku Rice Ball" which won the highest award at the cereal rice recipe contest is now commercialized and sold at am/pm (convenience stores) from today!!!

This rice ball "Kurogomoku Onigiri" will be available at 128yen ($1.28) at am/pm in Kanto, Kansai and Kyushu area for a month from 9/29. The rice is cooked with 5 black-colored ingredients: black pork (which is a local specialty in Kagoshima prefecture), sliced tangle (kind of seaweed), forbidden rice (black cereal rice), black sesame, and dried shitake mushroom. The dashi of sliced tangle and dried shitake mushroom bring out added flavor! Mmm :)

Lunch @ Ohachi

This is something about yesterday.

I was off from work, so I saw my boyfriend in Shibuya after the hula class to have lunch together. He had an idea to take me to a restaurant, but he forgot where it was, so we just happened to enter the restaurant called "Ohachi".





They serve healthy homestyle dishes. What I had was white fish fries and vegetables simmered in thick dashi broth. It comes with white rice, but you can change it to 16 cereal rice, which is cool! You know I love healthy food :)

Okay, I need to make another post for today, which is a big culinary news!!!
