Louis Roederer Champagne: Brut Premier

The night before the marriage, we made a toast with Louis Roederer's premium champagne called Brut Premier!

Louis Roederer is a Champagne producer based in Reims, France. Founded in 1776, it was inherited and renamed by Louis Roeder in 1833, and is noted as the producer of the luxury champagne Cristal.

I ordered it last month from a gift catalog which I got it at work.
Innocuously, I was thinking of getting rice but my boyfriend chose this champagne since we will never get it by ourselves! It comes with two glasses and costs $100 (10,000yen) at stores.

The champagne was refreshing and gorgeous!!!
Surprisingly, we could drink a whole bottle of 750ml!!!
Sometimes okay ;)

We finally have sunshine today.
I'm wearing my down overcoat everyday since the forecast kept on saying it will be freezing, but I don't feel the cold yet!

Have a good day!!!

We Just Got MARRIED!!!

On November 22nd, we filed our marriage paper!!!

In Japan, 11/22 is a good married couple day. We read (as phonetic equivalent) 11 "ii" which means "good" and 22 "fu-fu" which means "married couple". Very simple, but we will never forget this date ;)

In the evening, my family threw us a surprise party at Yoga Club (dogs okay restaurant). Milk (our dog) came to celebrate us, too. Along with dinner, we had Mommessin's Beaujolais Nouveau. I think this brand is quite a hit this year! It was refreshing but tasty. We all liked it!

Milk also had a cake. We tried it before he ate. It wasn't sweet at all. The cream part was potato. The bottom part was a carrot cake with cinnamon flavor. We all thought the carrot part is edible. Ha-ha!

Anyway, thanks for your support!
We have lived together for 6 years, so nothing changes as husband and wife, but I am really happy now. I think all things happened between us are meaningful. I want to keep ALOHA in my heart and cherish our time together forever!

We will be happy :D

Beaujolais Nouveau 2009

Have you tried Beaujolais Nouveau 2009 already?

It is young and sour but not that bad ;D
I love refreshing wines, so I drink it every year.
Plus, it's an annual event, so I enjoy drinking it!

My boyfriend had a drinking session last night but he bought it for me.
We had a glass of wine before we go to bed.
Maybe this is why I couldn't wake up this morning...

It is freezing again today!
Monday is a holiday (Labor Thanksgiving Day).
Three days off in a row! Yay!!!

Need to create new recipes, though :P

See you next week!!!

Pink Christmas Tree

Time flies. Christmas is right around the corner!!! Streets in Tokyo are decorated with Christmas trees and lighting. People are looking for Christmas presents already.

Last Saturday, I found a cute pink Christmas tree in front of the department store (Printemps) in Ginza. I took a pic of it and using it for my iPhone background. You know I love pink color ;)

It is cold and raining today. But now is the best season to feel the warmth of your partner. He-he ;)

Hula again tonight.

ALOHA!!!

P.S. Finally! I hope I replied to all comments. Thanks :D

Yummy Chinese Restaurant: Benitoragyozabou

The weather today is chilly but nice with blue sky!

Last Saturday, before the movies, my boyfriend and I had a dinner at a Chinese restaurant called "Benitoragyozabou". The restaurant serves foods with the common touch. We didn't order it on this day, but their popular menu is "Teppan Bou(Stick) Gyoza". What we had were Chicken Banbanji (棒棒鳥), Shrimp Spring Rolls (海老春巻), Jumbo Gyoza (大餃子), Shoronpo (小籠包), and Beef And Black Sesame Fried Rice (牛肉黒胡麻炒飯). All dishes were delicious! I would love to go back there again to try out other foods! Jasmine tea bassed alcohol drink called Matsurika (末莉花) was great, too! I loved it's flowery relaxing aroma :D

I am really busy these days, keep forgetting things I should do, even I wrote them on my notebook... Hmm...

BTW, on Monday, since I received 1000th photo report, there were about 60 thousand visitors on my page at Cookpad. Somehow, I received many complaints about the way I post my recipes. Shit!!!

Take it easy!

Please try it out if you get a chance :)

Today, the temperature fell rapidly! The high is F50 (10C)! Freezing X(

Stay warm!

Oops, I will write about the Chinese restaurant tomorrow!

THIS IS IT

Have you seen this movie already???

THIS IS IT

If not, you must to!!!
OMG! He's such a great artist! Creative genius! Magnetic performer!
I'm not his fan, but the movie was AMAZING!!!

My boyfriend and I just happened to find it was screened at the theater on Saturday while walking Ginza. Unfortunately, the show in Japan will end on this Wednesday. I'm glad we had a chance to see it on the big screen.

I'm still way behind on replies... Busy these days, but for sure, I will catch up!

LOVE

P.S. Tomorrow, I will write about yummy Chinese we had on this day ;)

Only Minerals

Hi! It's raining and cold again.

Have you ever tried mineral foundation?!
Recently, I switched my foundation from liquid to powder since I realized that my acne gets worse by using the liquid one. Taking this opportunity, I decided to get the mineral one! Liquid covers well, though.

Only Minerals foundation is high quality, 100% mineral-based foundation produced by a Japanese company called YA-MAN. I don't do it, but you can sleep with it! I've used it for 2 weeks and seems like my acne is recovering. The foundation covers well, so I think I'm gonna use it for a while. Anyway, I am so fool that I have used the liquid for 6 months to ruin my skin X(

BTW, yesterday, Digital Marketing Next 2009 was not that interesting. Most exhibitors were poor at explaining their products. But I enjoyed the seminars. Cookpad's (recipe site's) WOM seiminar was quite interesting since I use the site every day ;)

Okey-dokey! I gotta go now.

See you on Monday!!!

Lipton - Tea Sparkling - Mixed Berry

Busy busy days!!!

Yesterday, my co-worker let me sample Lipton's new mixed berry flavored sparkling tea! I think the berry flavor (black currant, blueberry, and strawberry flavor) was stronger than the tea flavor, but it was refreshing and acceptable.

This afternoon, I am going to visit an exhibition: Digital Marketing Next 2009! I haven't written this before but I work at an IT company running two sites selling products.

Then after that, I have hula class. A week passed again! How fast time flies!!!

I gotta go now! See you tomorrow :D

My Accomplishments

Hi! As predicted, it's a rainy day today. But luckily the temp stays high at 70F (21C).

Finally, I will briefly list my accomplishments in October. Somehow, not many, though...

On 10/5, my "Okonomi Chikuwa Fries" won the calcium chickuwa award. I stuffed ingredients for Okonomiyaki (Japanese savoury pancake) in chikuwa (Japanese tube-like food product made from ingredients like minced fish). This chikuwa contains 300mg of calcium per stick!

On 10/5, my Sweet Potatoes won the highest award and my Teriyaki Chicken Meat Loaf won the outstanding performance award at blue agave syrup recipe contest. Blue agave syrup (agave tequilana syrup) is a natural syrup made from agave plant that is an important economic product of Jalisco state in Mexico. It is said to slow the rise in blood sugar. BTW agave means honorable in Greek.

On 10/7, my Banana and Apple Brown Sugar Okara Cake won the highest award at okara powder recipe contest. Okara is bean curd refuse. I combined it with banana and apple to make it healthy with a lot of fiber!

On 10/16, my Healthy 5 Colors Chinese Rice won the gold award at mannanhikari recipe contest. I believe jose loves this product. By cooking the rice with mannanhikari, you can save calories (up to 30%)! Mannnanhikari is a rice shaped konjac food. Amazing, right?! It's sticky texture was perfect for Chinese rice dish!

On 10/18, my Tuna Egg Sandwich Picks, printed on a bento brochure, has arrived!

On 10/26, my Alaskan Cheese Fries Melt won the highest award at KRAFT's cheese recipe contest. The recipe is simple. I fried avocado and cheese wrapped with smoked salmon. It's slightly salted and delicious! Sprinkle them with lemon juice for a refreshing taste!

On 10/31, my China Bread Rolls received a prize at ANDERSEN recipe contest. This year, I just received a prize, but last year, I attended the cook-off final!

I don't know which of my recipes won the prizes, but on 10/5
I received a prize for participation at oillio recipe contest. On 10/17, received an honorable mention at apple art recipe contest. On 10/21, received a prize for participation at beef contest.

Last month, I didn't apply a lot for samples, so I just received curry nabe broth, assorted fruits, and cleansing cream.

Hope I have a better luck in November.

Make the best!!!

Namahage

Hi! Today we have another nice weather. The high temp is 70F (21C)! It's going to rain from tomorrow, though...

This is something about last last week on 10/30. My college friend in NY came to see us with her fiance (they are a bilingual couple)! My boyfriend and I see her every year in NY (in summer) but never saw him. This time, she came back to Japan with him to visit her parents for marital stuff. Their courtship was for 10 years! Days ago, I heard they were finally approved by her parents. I am very happy to hear that. Congratulations again!!!

On this day, about 12 people (including college friends) gathered together. We had a dinner at a restaurant called Namahage. Namahage by the way is a Japanese ritual which is observed throughout Oga Peninsula, Akita Prefecture in northern Honshū, Japan. It is said to have originated as a ritual for cleansing people's souls, and for blessing the new year. While eating, Namahage comes to your table to entertain. The restaurant serves local foods in Akita, such as Kiritanpo (rice stick) nabe! I hope her fiance enjoyed, in a jet-lagged mind. He-he!

Oops. I know I'm way behind on replies... I will catch up soon!

Stay with me :D
