Sakura Carpet

After the unstable weather, we finally have a clear blue sky! But most of the cherry blossoms have fallen on the ground... I think we had too many cold and rainy days this year. And still it is cold today that I wore my down jacket to go to work.

Anyway, today I am going out for lunch with my mixi (SNS) friend at work :D The weather is going to get bad from tomorrow again, so nice day to hang out!

Have a good day!!!

Rhapsody Lani @ YouTube

While in Hirado (Nagasaki), my darling took a video of my hula as usual. The video was taken at 平戸港交流広場 (Hirado Port Exchange Plaza). You can see 平戸城 (Hirado Castle) in the background! This time, I danced it at a few different places; however, this one was the best of all. One I took at 千里ヶ浜 (Senrigahama Beach) was not that good because the beach was slightly slant and my steps are bit staggering. Anyway, the view of the seashore well fits the hula dancing, so I will upload this video as well.

Like before, I posted my videos on my YouTube account.
For those who are already my friends at YouTube, I sent you the permission to view my videos. But sorry that it has a delay since the sharing option limits the number of people to share the video at the same time...

For those who are not my friends at YouTube, I will only show this video to my blog buddies who keep in touch with me on a regular basis or Tipness club members who took this "hula hula" class. Please send me a request from my YouTube account. I will add you as my friend to view my videos.

This morning, my tooth filling fell out, so I took a half-day off and went to see the dentist X(

It is raining & cold again in Tokyo.
What a tiring day...

Take care!!!

Ago

Ago means tobiuo (flying fish) in the regional dialect. It is one of the local specialities in Hirado (Nagasaki).

At the very end of our dinner (Kaiseki-ryouri), we had Ago dashi soup. The soup was richer than bonito dashi and was very pleasant! I bought Ago soup for my souvenir :D

Another Ago we had was broiled Ago. It was served at our breakfast buffet! Broiled Ago is pretty hard but if you chew it well, you can be smart ;)

Ago is also used for soy sauce product! It uses less salt and has sweet & mild taste. It is perfect for sashimi or hidden flavor of your cooking!

Then last but not least, I found Ago cookies!!! They contain Ago powder! You can enjoy slight taste of Ago flavor. Interesting indeed!!!

There are many other Ago souvenirs in Hirado.
I hope you get a chance to visit there and find them!

It is finally sunny today but all the cherry blossoms were blown away by the spring storm...
Hopefully I will upload my hula video tomorrow! I just converted MP4 to AVI!

This is all for today ;)

Weekend Trip to Hirado (Nagasaki)

On the weekend, my darling and I visited Hirado city in Nagasaki prefecture. 4/4 was my darling's 35th birthday, so we celebrated his birthday there, too! We stayed at the hotel called 旗松亭 (Kishoutei), which was the prize for the Dutch food contest!

We left home at 5:00AM, took a plane from Tokyo to Fukuoka for about 2 hours, took a bus from Hakata to Hirado for about 2.5 hours, and arrived at Hirado at 1:30PM! It was well worth the long distance, we enjoyed local dishes in Hirado!

The top left image is 懐石料理 (Kaiseki-ryouri: variety of dishes). After having a relaxing dip in outdoor hot spring bath, we had those for dinner in our room at the hotel. Raw flatfish on the boat was gorgeous and super delicious! The soy sauce in Kyushu area is not that salty but sweet as compared to soy sauce in Tokyo, so you can eat a lot of sashimi without white rice!

Besides foods, we enjoyed sightseeing! We walked to 平戸城 (Hirado Castle) which dominates the hill that rises above the town and the harbour. 平戸教会 (St. Francis Xavier Memorial Church) raises high behind temples and it has a very interesting view with both temples and a church from the distance.

BTW, we couldn't rent a car since there was no car available during our stay, so we rented bicycles! We headed to 千里ヶ浜 (Senrigahama Beach) where is Hirado's largest sandy beach. It was 7km (4.5miles) away from the city! My muscles are sore now... The sea was blue and beautiful, so I took a video of my hula there! That was my objective to ride there actually. He-he ;)

Our return bus was at 1:30PM as well, so we had exactly 24 hours in Hirado. The time there was like a dream. Now I'm back to work... Busy Monday! I will hopefully upload my hula video tomorrow!

Calorie Hunter

Last night, I attended the new class called "Calorie Hunter" after the regular hula dancing class at the gym. You dance Latin, hip-hop, house, and whatever dance for non-stop 45 minutes! People at the gym say you just simply follow an instructor, but for no joke, I am not a dance person, so I couldn't follow the instructor at all X( I think I burned my calories in a cold sweat... I'm not sure weather to attend it again (try out new a new thing) or not.

Anyway, the new hula dancing song is Kaimana Hila! I can't wait to complete it :D

This weekend, my darling and I are going to fly to Nagasaki and take a bus (2.5hrs!!!) to visit Hirado city. We are using the hotel vouchers which I won at the Dutch food contest! Then I am thinking of renting a car to do sightseeing in Ikitsuki (very northern part of Nagasaki). I haven't driven a car for ages in Japan, so I hope I can make it back alive!

I am planning to take the video of the previous hula this weekend there. So, hopefully, I'll post it at YouTube by next week!

Stay tuned!!!

Sakura Light-Up

Sakura light-up is currently taking place along the river (senkawa) near home from 3/31 to 4/4. Last night, the trees weren't in full bloom, but were very beautiful.

It is already April, the first day of the new (school) term in Japan. I saw many freshmen at the train station. This year, I somehow feel the new term since the new hula session starts from tonight and I am also planning to attend the new fat burning class called "calorie hunter" after that :D But my concern is... that the class ends at 9PM, so I should be really exhausted on Friday X(

Anyway, I'm not making an April Fool, seriously, April 1st is a good day to start something new!

Make the best of it!

Lion Coffee Macadamia

How often do you drink flavored coffee?

I don't usually drink flavored coffee but sometimes it is nice for a change.
Lion Chocolate Macadamia 20 oz. WB CoffeeFew weeks ago, I had a macadamia flavored coffee at a Hawaiian restaurant in Shibuya. Sweet aroma lets you save sugar! Although I don't add sugar in my coffee normally.

It is still cold today. Sakura trees are almost in full bloom! Tree light-up is taking place from tonight to Sunday. Unfortunately, we are going to miss the light-up since we are flying to Hirado this weekend. I found that they also hold sakura events, so we will see!

Tonight, my new pau skirt gonna arrive! This time I bought it without any waver!

Have a good one ;)

Spider Rolls @ Roppongi J (Bamboo Bar)

What kind of sushi rolls do you like?!

I love spider rolls (sushi rolls with soft shell crabs)! This is one of my favorites :p Last weekend I had it at Roppongi J (Bamboo Bar) restaurant in Roppongi Hills. Actually, my darling and I were planning to go to a Hawaiian restaurant on the same floor, but we just made a mistake and sucked into the modern bamboo lights displays. They serve creative international foods. Their huge kabob salad was delicious, too!

It is freezing cold today in Tokyo. High today is 50F (10C)! I still need my down jacket!

I have a lot to do recently. My ToDo list never ends...

Take care!!!

Spring Squid Ink Pasta @ Mia Angela

Hi there! On Saturday I had a Squid Ink Pasta at my favorite Italian restaurant Mia Angela! It is Tagliolini with "Botan" shrimp and rape blossoms. Mmm yummy! It went great with their recommended white wine, "Soave Classico, Colbaraca". The wine was crisp and dry with a fruity pear flavor. I'm not good at wine but I love their wines ;)

I have zero sense of direction! This morning, my regular train stopped, so I took a different train and got off at a different closest station to go to work. However, I wasn't sure how to go to my workplace from that station, so I walked on feel... and that was a big mistake... After a while, I got lost and reached the regular train station. Which means I took the long way!!! Damn...

It is cold in Tokyo, waiting for sakura to blossom out! We are missing the sakura light-up this year since we are going on a trip to Kyushu (Nagasaki) on this weekend! BTW, I just realized I always do peace sign(s) when I take photo...

Busy Monday!
See you again!!!

American-style Coupon

Last weekend, when we shopped at a supermarket called Ito Yokado (maybe for the first time in a couple of years), an American-style coupon came out from the cash register! This brings back memories in the U.S. :)

Some supermarkets have membership cards for key rings, which I guess is an idea from the U.S. as well!

Anyway, low temp but we are finally having a sunny day today!

Happy Friday :D

BTW, yesterday, I realized that blogger has changed it's editting mode... I gotta get used to it...

Beautiful Blogger Award

Thank you for the Beautiful Blogger Award, jose! It was interesting to read more about you! I think it has been already almost 2 years since I know you online! Don't you think it's amazing?!

The rules are here. I would say anyone who stopped by and writes a blog can be awarded to this Beautiful Blogger Award :D

1. Thank the person who gave you this award.
2. Share 7 things about yourself.
3. Pass the award along to 15 bloggers who you have recently discovered and who you think are fantastic.
4. Contact the bloggers you've picked and let them know about the award.

7 things about me:

1) I love Fuchsia Pink. I tend to buy things in this color without hesitation.
2) I don't aggressively enlarge my circle of friends, because I am not sure whether I can keep in touch with all of them or not. Am I a perfectionist?! Ha-ha!!!
3) I still keep school text books... I just can't throw them away X(
4) I run online shops at work, so on the workdays, I use Internet for more than 8 hours! Jeez!!!
5) I always shop at Shibuya 109! I seldom shop at other stores.
6) I love granola bars! I eat one per day!!!
7) I seldom work overtime. I think I do overtime once in a half year!

It is raining + cold here in Tokyo. Some sakura have just started to bloom when the weather was warm last week. I hope they bear this weather!

Today, we are finishing up the hula for this term! I will post the dance soon on You Tube :D

Bye for now!

Addictive Mint Chocolates

Last week, I received a box of Chocolatier Erica's #1 leaf-shaped mint chocolates.

I don't really love to eat mint flavored chocolate, although I used to love to eat After Eights. Anyway, I just tried one piece, and was unexpectedly delicious!!! The light green part is mint chocolate (not sweet at all but refreshing) and the dark brown part is milk chocolate. Mmm yummy!!!

I have them on my desk at work. As you can see, I ate half of them... I can't stop picking up X(

How shall I stop gaining weight!?

Gotta brush my teeth to stop!!!

UP IN THE AIR

On Saturday, my darling and I went to the movies.

We saw UP IN THE AIR - With a job that has him traveling around the country firing people, Ryan Bingham leads an empty life out of a suitcase, until his company does the unexpected: ground him...

The movie pictures ups and downs of our lives. From the movie, I thought what makes yourself happy is to keep the faith. The guy "Ryan" questioned his life of being lonely, after making business trips with a new recruit "Natalie". Before, he believed meeting people is a momentary amusement, but Natalie changed his mind and let him catch the lady "Alex" who he dated for few times, actually was married... If Ryan didn't take Natalie's word, he might have gone his way not chasing the lady, being happy, but now he feels lonely. What a life...

Anyway, casts were great! I loved their performances! They made me think what is important in my life and what makes me happy.

It was 3-day-holiday this weekend, but now it's over. Time flies!!! I bought fuchsia pink Arnold Palmer suitcase :D Can't wait to travel! My darling was pretty tired while I speak too much every single moment... Do you ladies understand me?! I didn't mean to speak a lot... I took his picture because he looked really tired...

I hope he is having a quiet time at work today!

Busy workday! See you again!!!
